Lawsuit: Myrtle Beach hotel discriminatory to Black workers

A former employee of a Myrtle Beach hotel claims a general manager denied Black employees some of their job benefits and called him a disparaging name that was racially motivated, according to a lawsuit filed in February.

The suit was filed Feb. 22 against the operators of the Hampton Inn Hotel at the Northwood location, court records show.

Kevin Simmons, a Black man and former employee of the hotel, filed the suit in Horry County court against Raleigh Krishna, Inc. and CN Hotels, which operates the inn.

Lawsuit: NC family bitten by bed bugs at Myrtle Beach hotel

A North Carolina woman says she and her children were bitten by bed bugs while staying at a Myrtle Beach hotel last summer, according to a lawsuit filed Monday in Horry County court.

Andrea Baisden and her children, Johnny Worth and an unnamed minor, are listed as defendants in lawsuit. Baisden and Worth filed the lawsuit against Atlantic Paradise Inn, LLC; and Withers Heights Management, LLC, the corporation that operates the aforementioned hotel.
