I’m a travel expert – the exact dates you should book your flights on to make sure you save thousands
A FORMER flight attendant has shared tips about when to book flights that could help travelers save thousands of dollars.
The travel agent and TikToker said that in order to get the cheapest deal, people should book their flights one to three months in advance.
With more than 380K followers, travel expert Kayla Marbry has shared tricks on buying cheap flights, packing lightly, and upgrading to business class seats.
“Some people don’t believe it, and you just have to try it to see it work,” Kayla told Good Morning America about her business class hack.
It involves using Expedia’s package deals and minimizing the length of hotel stays.
“It saves so much money for people who want to travel in comfort.
“It’s not fun traveling in an economy seat when you’re squished between two people on a seven-hour flight.”
In order to book a flight without breaking the bank, Kayla first suggests looking for tickets with a flexible schedule.
Looking in advance for trips that you’ll be taking will save you money in the long run, she said.
The former flight attendant advised that buying tickets one to three months before the trip will give an advantage for cheaper flights.
There are also reminders that travelers can set to notify them whenever ticket prices drop.
Kayla also recommended that frequent flyers use credit cards to purchase their flights as it’s possible to get thousands of credit card points while spending money — leading to rewards that could be redeemed on later trips.
Package deals are also a great way to save money on tickets and other travel expenses.
“If you’re just looking for a flight, just minimize the amount of time you’re staying in a hotel because you actually won’t be staying there anyway,” Kayla said, explaining that the package price of a flight ticket and a hotel is sometimes less than the flight alone.
She also recommends using the Skyscanner website as an alternative to Expedia to find cheap flights.
Her advice comes as another travel blogger said that the most expensive day to fly is Sunday.
