Travel + Leisure lists San Antonio as one of the best May travel spots
Residents of San Antonio know that it has long been a vacation destination, especially in the spring. Recently, the exploratory publication Travel + Leisure spotlighted San Antonio in its short list of “Best Places to Travel in May 2022.”
In its description, the magazine has a myriad of suggestions for prospective Alamo City visitors. First among them is a call to explore the city’s River Walk, whether that be through “biking, strolling, kayaking, or canoeing.”
Then, casually acknowledging just how scorching hot the city’s deep summer usually is, it reminds the reader that mid-80s May weather is “ideal” for venturing out to the outdoor San Antonio Zoo, Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch, and the underground stalagmite-covered Natural Bridge Caverns.
Travel + Leisure also has ideas for family-oriented activities. Later suggesting trips to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld. For the adults looking to dine? They name drop the new-ish Thompson Hotel and the lodging’s premiere eatery Landrace, by James Beard Award finalist chef Steve McHugh.
The publication also highlighted towns in North and South Carolina, Greater Zion, Utah, San Juan, Puerto Rico,Yosemite National Park, and Italy’s Amalfi Coast.
