3 men charged in Virginia Beach shootings appear in court

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Three men who were charged in shootings that left several people injured during a chaotic weekend along Virginia Beach’s oceanfront made their first court appearances via video on Monday. Two other weekend shooting incidents claimed two lives.

Virginia Beach Judge Sandra S. Menago went over the charges for Ahmon Jahree Adams, 22, of Chesapeake, Virginia; Nyquez Tyyon Baker, 18, of Virginia Beach; and Devon Maurice Dorsey Jr., 20, of Virginia Beach.

At least 10 people were shot and two killed on Friday in what police called a “chaotic” night of violence in Virginia Beach with “multiple crime scenes.”

Man accused of slashing 40 tires in Daytona Beach arrested

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A day after releasing surveillance video showing a man slashing vehicle tires at a motel in Daytona Beach Shores, police said they have identified the man in the video and he is in custody.

Det. Sgt. Jessica Long, with the Daytona Beach Shores Police Department, confirmed that the suspect, Thomas Richards, was identified and arrested Thursday afternoon. Richards is accused of targeting around 40 vehicles at seven area hotels and a beach parking lot overnight into Wednesday morning.

Miami Beach mayor on spring break state of emergency: ‘We can’t allow disorder ‘
